3 Effective Tips for a Better Workout
April 10, 2011 | Filed Under Workout Tips | No CommentsEvery once in a while a workout regimen will become tiresome. You will take a look at your GRIPAD workout and weight lifting gloves in your gym bag and you just won’t be able to muster the energy you need for the task at hand. Sometimes it’s you. And sometimes it’s your routine. To get everything you can from your body and your time in the gym, here are three general tips meant to reinvigorate your workout life…
Pre-workout Nutrition – Carbohydrates and proteins are important additions before and after a workout. A shake 30 to 45 minutes before a workout will increase the flow of amino acids to your muscles during training sessions – These are the building blocks for your muscles. After the workout is complete, a shake following will effectively stimulate muscle growth.
Work Out with a Friend – And choose a friend who has the same goals as you in the weight room or gym and will push you effectively. Working out alone can become somewhat tedious, depending upon your schedule and overall time at the gym. A workout partner will help to liven up the process, provide you with a spotter, and push your competitive spirit forward.
Avoid the Mirrors – It sounds simple, doesn’t it? In a Reader’s Digest article, a study of fifty eight women found that those working out in front of a mirror became stressed and more fatigued after a thirty minute workout, compared to women who worked out without their reflection staring back at them. It’s something that is commonplace in gyms around the country without many people thinking twice about the potential for mirrors to cause a decline in workout production. Try a non-reflective workout your next time out and see if there is any difference in stamina or peace of mind.
